Nintendo’s March 2005 launch of its DS handheld games device was supported by interactive TV, a national sampling drive, outdoor advertising – and our holograms. HMV’s and Virgin’s flagship shop windows on Oxford Street London and Game Station in Birmingham’s Bullring each featured a hologram of a huge full colour, three-dimensional, rotating Nintendo DS.
Nintendo was the first company to use our holograms as part of its overall marketing strategy in the UK. Says Philip Stephens, Retail Development Manager, Nintendo: ‘We wanted to get maximum impact in store for the launch of Nintendo DS and point of sale has always played a large part in this. We are always looking for new and innovative ways of attracting customer attention and achieving stand out in store, and we believe that the holograms have been very successful in doing this.”
